Mecury Retrograde

Late last week I took a call from a person who said she was interested in advertising with canvas, we talked for a few minutes and toward the end of the call she said “we’re in retrograde so I won’t make any big decisions,” advertising falls into the big decision category for her, “until after February 19 when the it ends.”

Since I’m not that deep in Astrology knowledge I didn’t know what she meant. I do read my read my horoscope every month, we both agreed Eric Francis who provides them for canvas is on point, but beyond that my knowledge is limited.

I asked my business partner Matt if he knew what it meant and he explained it, but for me it was like hearing a new language for the first time. It still didn’t register.

Going into this week I didn’t give it much thought, but we’ve had a wacky week here at canvas. Not bad, just wacky. Different things, different discussions that I’m not sure how to describe other than wacky.

Here I am Friday afternoon and end up reconnecting with another person from my former corp. life. This connection wasn’t wacky it was great she shared what she’s doing now, I shared what I’m doing. We have some common connections that could help our businesses grow. The conversation got me thinking about the business and some of the happenings this week.

And as I get through the last emails of the day and some information ready to go out to a client, I couldn’t help but think again of how wacky this week has been. The retrograde conversation popped back in my head and I vaguely remembered what Matt told me. Still sitting with me I googled it and it was surprising to me to see what came back. According to Astrology.com

“Mercury retrograde gives rise to personal misunderstandings; flawed, disrupted, or delayed communications, negotiations and trade; glitches and breakdowns with phones, computers, cars, buses, and trains. And all of these problems usually arise because some crucial piece of information, or component, has gone astray, or awry.”

I’ve read this four times now and am like “wow” this is what went on this week!

So for everyone out there who’s also had a wacky week just remember Mercury is in retrograde and will be until February 19.

Whew and I thought it might have been worse than that, yes there’s always light at the end of the tunnel.
