Pamela Gates Capozzola, of Westhampton Beach, is a self-taught artist and exhibiting member of the Southampton Artist Association. She displays her watercolors, charcoals, and oils on the East End. In March, the Fitzgerald Gallery of Westhampton has her undivided attention. “I’ve been creating a piece for the St. Patty’s Day Parade in Westhampton every year since 1994,” says Capozzola. “The Fitzgerald Gallery has a reception at the parade route’s end; my prints are featured along with the new original of the year.” In 2005, the Ancient Order of Hibernians hired her to paint a portrait of the grand marshall of the Hampton Bays Parade, which she’s done each year since. Pamela’s talent for capturing the moment can also be seen in her landscapes. “The quality of the light is so beautiful out here . . . the way it reflects off the water creates an array of color along the shoreline and farmlands.”
Capozzola donates a percentage of her works to Think About The Children (thinkaboutthechildren.org). a nonprofit foundation supporting the education and welfare of Vietnamese children. See more of her work at zola-graphics.com
