North Haven resident Michelle Suna (www.michellesuna.com) has been painting nature and her very personal view of it for more than three decades. She recently merged her passion for art with her dedication to yoga by displaying her murals at Route 114 Yoga studio in East Hampton. Michelle’s artwork will change according to the seasons, and acts as a backdrop for a large wooden Buddha. According to instructor Rachel Carmichael, the paintings are quite powerful. “Each piece serves as an offering to inspire and deepen one’s personal connection along the path of yoga,” she says. In return, yoga has been a catalyst for Michelle’s work; she explains, “There’s the fluidity of movement, the enhanced calmness of breath, and a centeredness that enables profound focus and then filters through my creative expression, producing many happy surprises or the realization of a long-pondered solution.”
