A former professional dancer and water-ballet swimmer, Greenlawn resident Junelee Graham Rose worked for such notable producers as Lou Walters (Barbara Walters’ father) and Mike Todd. Having danced in New York’s Latin Quarter and in Las Vegas, she went on to perform in Aquashows at Jones Beach and Flushing Meadows Ampitheaters. These days, Junelee is pursuing a lifelong dream as a painter. “After more than 20 years in show business, I started classes at the Art League of Long Island and have been an active artist ever since,” she states. Her show- business background osmotically adds to her artwork. “Dancing and painting flow back and forth into each other with the greatest of ease. They are both non-verbal expressions of emotion,” describes Junelee, whose art has been exhibited at the Cork Gallery at Lincoln Center, and at the Open Center in Soho. Her abstract and surrealistic acrylic paintings are cited as uniquely imaginative. “This is probably because so much of my soul goes into each piece,” she says.
