The vivid artistry in watercolors and acrylics by painter Wendy Csoka, lifelong resident of Seacliff, has been stirred by the breathtaking views of Hempstead Harbor and by her college years at University of Arizona, where the sunsets and desert vistas intensified her color palette. Perhaps her greatest inspiration is her husband, Frank Csoka, assistant professor in the communication design department at FIT, who took a sabbatical to write Everything is Asleep Until it Wakes Up: The Art of Wendy Csoka (Second Float Press). The book is a stunning collection of Wendy’s artwork, with text in an interview format that captures her passion for painting. “We wanted to share the experience of an artist and show the creative process,” Wendy explains. The couple is currently giving talks at libraries throughout Long Island to share the design and documentation process for the book.
