LI Sounds: Danny Ross Revisited

Last April, when canvas covered Danny Ross, a talented young musician from Melville, the pop rock pianist had just released his debut EP, Introducing Danny Ross! In the past nine months since our interview, Ross has put together an eight-piece band and horn section, played a NYC tour, organized a benefit concert for 9/11 Environmental Action, and is shooting a music video—all outside the time frame of a 9-to-6 job as the scheduler and operations coordinator for Congressman Jerrold Nadler. Juggling a politician’s agenda while building his own buzz has been quite an adventure. As Ross explains, “It certainly keeps me busy, but more than anything, it keeps me sharp and detail-oriented so that I can deal with all the aspects of being an artist, whether its scheduling rehearsals, booking gigs, writing press releases, or practicing piano scales.”
